You will possibly be aware the Association’s Financial Year ends on 30 September with the Annual Consideration of Business to be held within 4 months of that date.
I thought it appropriate to remind Clubs of the present Constitutional requirements for the Election of Officers and Notice of Motions Clauses which are as follows:
5.3 All Officers shall be elected by postal ballot in Annual Consideration of General Business, except as otherwise provided. Officers shall retire annually but shall be eligible for re-election without nomination, otherwise all candidates for office must he nominated by a life member, an affiliated club with the nomination being endorsed by the club secretary, or by a boat owner who complies with clause 3.4 and has had the nomination endorsed by ten (10) voting members. All nominations must be in writing arid be received by the Honorary Secretary no later
than the 1st day of November each year.
7.2 Motions for the Annual Consideration of General Business must be in the hands of the Honorary Secretary NZRYA not later than 1st of November each year.
In respect of Association Officers, I am prepared to toss my name in the hat which I believe Ian and Rod are in the same category, After many years of sterling service Alan Hayes is retiring, therefore we will require a Registrar and of course a Newsletter Editor. Please note the above requirements and let me have the names of any takers by the prescribed date.
Regarding the Notice of Motions, Council will be forwarding to all financial Clubs/members a proposed new Constitution containing suggestions received from Clubs/members earlier in the year.
